Lemon Basil
Lemon basil’s leaves are narrower than those of sweet basil, and they are typically a vibrant green with a slightly glossy texture. They’re more elongated and often have a lighter green underside. The defining feature of lemon basil is its strong citrus scent and taste. It carries a distinct lemony aroma with hints of traditional basil’s peppery, sweet undertones. Leaves can be harvested throughout the growing season by pinching off the tops to encourage continual growth.
