Basil
Basil leaves are vibrant green, oval-shaped, and often pointed at the ends. They’re smooth and slightly glossy with a serrated edge. Basil thrives in warm climates with well-draining soil and plenty of sunlight. Leaves can be harvested throughout the growing season by pinching off the tops to encourage bushier growth. It pairs well with tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, and is frequently used in pesto, salads, soups, and pasta sauces.
